Contributor Guidelines

Before applying to be a contributor, please read the guidelines below.1. GUIDELINES:
Protect the Loop is a fan project celebrating the fifth anniversary of Deathloop’s release. We will be producing a free online fanzine featuring fan-made content centered around Deathloop.
A fanzine is an anthology of fan-made content such as fanfiction and art. We are looking for artists and writers to create new and exclusive pieces for our zine.We do not have a set upper limit on the number of contributors but are aiming towards around 30 page artists and 10 writers. We may have more or less depending on applications.Contributors will retain all rights to their work.2. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We are looking for artists and writers to create original and exclusive content that aligns with canon settings, themes, and characters seen in Deathloop.
This zine will not feature NSFW content; however we welcome pieces featuring romantic relationships (both canon and non-canon). This zine may also feature canon-typical violence or sexual innuendos.Note: the zine will likely have spoilers for those who have not completed the game.3. APPLYING:
We are primarily recruiting for artists, who will create a full single page or spread illustration for the zine, and writers, who will create a literary piece not to exceed more than 1,500 words. We will also be looking for an artist to design the cover.
We may also be open to featuring other types of work e.g. cosplay, high quality screenshots, etc. Please get in touch!AI generated art, writing and content will not be accepted and your application will be removed and blacklisted indefinitely. When you apply, you will be asked to provide a primary portfolio of 3-5 samples of your work. For page artists, we ask that at least one piece has a completed background. For writers, we ask excerpts of your work to be no more than 1500 words. We ask that at least one writing piece is a completed work and we would prefer several completed pieces in your samples. Samples do not need to be Deathloop related and should rather reflect your skills as a creator. You may also provide a link to a wider secondary portfolio beyond the sample portfolio you submit. Please keep samples SFW.You will also be asked to provide a maximum of 5 pitches. Pitches are rough ideas of what you would like to create for the zine, and give us a general idea of our range of potential content. Pitches can be as detailed or as sparse as you like, but providing more details will be helpful to us.Note: in order to facilitate creating a wide variety of content, you may be asked to go with your secondary or tertiary pitch, so please only include pitches for what you actually want to create!4.
